The Scottish premier accused Theresa May of ignoring the interests and Scotland’s position regarding the separation of Britain from the European Union.

Nicola Sturgeon suggested that the Edinburgh Government will not have the right to a ‘veto’ and he takes into consideration the possibility of organizing a referendum on Scotland’s independence.

‘May made it very clear that the interests and the position of Scotland do not matter’, wrote the Scottish diplomat on his Twitter page.

‘This a strange approach for someone who wants to keep Britain united’, added Sturgeon.

In the past, Theresa May stated that Scotland’s opinions will be taken into account, but when she was asked about Edinburgh’s veto rights regarding Great Britain departure from EU, the British Prime Minister said: ‘The UK will have its position in the negotiations and us as the UK Government will have the duty to negotiate with the European Union’.

In the referendum from June, Scotland and Northern Ireland voted for Britain’s ‘remaining in EU’, while the population of England and Wales voted for Brexit.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon accused Theresa May of overlooking Scots after the prime minister said in a TV interview that the Westminster government would be the only one getting a say over Brexit.

So will the Scottish Government block the progress of Brexit preparations to place the possibility of a Scottish opt-out back on the table?

It’s possible – partly because a Repeal Bill converting EU law into English law won’t help a reluctantly Brexiting Scotland put its own legislative and legal house in order.
