Samsung advising Galaxy Note 7 users ‘turn off’ the devices

The South-Korean company advises users who acquired a Galaxy Note 7 to turn off their phones.

Apparently, this warning comes to a safety measure until they finish the investigation regarding the exploding devices, writes BBC.

A few days ago, Samsung announced they are suspending the production of this model after in September they recalled 2,5 million units.

The massive withdrawal came after millions of users stated the battery has a serious problem.

However, the possibility of Galaxy Note 7 to catch fire or even explode has become more and more plausible. The last case was the man from Kentucky who woke up in a room full of smoke because his smartphone caught fire.

But the most serious problem caused by these phones was the one when a U.S. plane was evacuated because a Galaxy Note 7 was reeking in the cabin.

‘The safety of our client remains our top priority. Samsung requires its global distribution partners to stop selling or replacing these devices, while the investigation is running’, said an official of the company.

‘Client who has an original device or a replace Galaxy Note 7 are advised to turn it off’, he added. The press from South Korea suggested that Samsung will stop producing the model for good.

Starting from Monday, all major US carriers removed the Galaxy Note 7 from their lineups and all have offered to replace existing Note 7 units for other phones. Apparently, the model who was supposed to become one of the hottest smartphones of 2017 can’t be trusted.
