The German food retail company has more than 10,000 stores all over Europe and they are planning to open their next chain in U.S.

According to Daily Mail, Lidl is planning to open their new U.S. stores in 2018 and rivals such as Walmart and Trader Joe’s are not very happy about it.

The German grocery chain scored a massive success in the UK, due to their extremely convenient prices on food, clothes, furniture and even household appliances.

Popular food retail companies such as Winn Dixie, Dollar General or Food Lion might become forced to lower their initial prices because Lidl is expecting to arrive in U.S. with a brand new appearance, extremely reasonable prices, and attractive new job offers.

Lidl has already sealed a deal with a distribution company in Virginia worth $200 million dollars and found four possible locations in Richmond.

They are also looking for managers in the area, especially in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey and Georgia.

Since their global launching, Lidl has become the most popular and appreciated food chain in the industry, due to their cheap prices and fresh products.

Their small stores are welcoming and based in key areas of the cities. The chain manages to keep prices low by limiting inventory to a small selection of private-label items rather than traditional supermarkets which carry several different brands of a single product, according to Daily Mail.

In addition, they are not focusing only on food. Over the years, they came up with inspired clothing collections including a fitness brand sold for less than $20.
