Four Possible Terrorists Detained In Turkey

Four suspects were detained on Friday morning in an investigation into a potential terrorist threat aimed at the British diplomatic mission and a German one. So far there were not discovered any links yet between the suspects and any terrorist group, according to Reuters.

The investigation was launched after receiving information that the Islamic State jihadists would cover organizing terrorist attacks on diplomatic missions in Western countries. Previously the British embassy in Ankara was closed for security reasons.

“The British Embassy in Ankara will be closed to the public on Friday, September 16th, for security reasons,” the diplomatic mission said on Thursday.

Like a number of diplomatic missions in Turkey, the United Kingdom Embassy closed its consular services on holidays during the feast of Aid al-Adha, which began on Monday and ends on Friday evening.

Also, the German Embassy in Ankara announced that diplomatic missions will provide “limited service Friday” without making any further details.

The Bild newspaper wrote that the diplomatic missions in Turkey and German schools are closed for fear of a possible terrorist attack.

Turkey was faced this year with several bloody attacks attributed to the Islamic state or Kurdish militants from PKK. Also, Turkey was shaken and an attempted coup.

Last month at least 50 people died and another 94 were injured in an explosion that occurred at a wedding in southern Turkey, in Gaziantep, a village located at about 95 km from the Syrian city of Aleppo, which is torn by war.

The situation in Turkey is very unstable because of the jihadists and the big number of Syrian immigrants that were deported there from several European countries and from Syria.
